Opening reception: Saturday 12. June 15-18.
I chose to call my exhibition: Metaphors. The metaphor is a pictorial representation of something different than what the eye sees at first glance. What this different thing actually is, depends on individual, social and cultural experiences. – In brief: what you see depends on the eye of the beholder.
The picture is actually just a surface. What really matters, is to get under the surface, find entrances to some kind of understanding of the picture’s elements, depending on temper, curiosity and a desire to think out of the box – i.e. beyond the picture’s frame.
Explore each picture, look at it from different distances, dwell on the detail, put your focus on the whole – and see what happens !
Be patient. Nothing is given in advance.
