Fantastico

6 – 28.10. 2023

Artists:  Agneta Sofiadotter & Jasmin Stolle

As the exhibition´s title suggests, the two Swedish artists, Agneta Sofiadotter and Jasmin Stolle, will be exhibiting their fantastic works on the two floors of Krebsen Gallery. Agneta paints with markers on plexiglas and Jasmin, who is an everyday plumber, is using the same material to create all kinds of objects and masks.

Behind this tangible and visible world, are other active realities. Small creatures creeping under the earth and on the minimal surface of the blade of grass forming a coherence, indispensable for human existence. There are some creatures in a deeper and wider field which can find their way into human consciousness through creativity, intuition, imagination or through the world of dreams. Perhaps, they exist in a parallel world that we can only imagine. Under the earth and in the air, we can find the smallest beings, assiduously active in an ecosystem which is invaluable to all life on earth. Aren´t the shadow figures of human consciousness, as comical and absurd they might be, necessary for humankind to awaken to the  enigmatic plurality of life and to feel  gratitude for it? Is there an invisible ecosystem that is equally indispensable as the visible one?

Agneta Sofiadotter (born 1953) has had exhibitions in Sweden, France, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg and Lithuania. The latest solo exhibition in Staffanstorps Konsthall was inaugurated by Professor Max Liljefors, from the Art Scientist Department at the University of Lund. She is the initiator of Tatis, a studio association for arts and sciences in Lund. Agneta works with marker on plexiglass and has a studio at Tatis.
