Bent Jessen

Bent is a sculptor working in stone and bronze.
His works are often strong faces in granite or quartzite + bronze. The expressions of the faces have mythological overtones and resembles faces from old baptismal fonts and churches. He works mostly with organic forms, but also some non-figurative.
Bent has workshops in Viborg and Copenhagen and has for years been member of Silkeborg Artists’ House.
Bent worked many years in Norway, e.g. on the island Bjarkøy where he worked as a teacher and in Hallindal as a tour guide. In later years he has had periodical stays in the Atists’ House in Svolvær (Lofoten). The bird motifs got their inspiration from there.
