In the summer of 2008 I purchased some pearls on the Internet and initiated a modest, relaxing hobby of making jewelry - I thought. Within a few months the hobby escalated in step with partly my excessive purchase of materials, partly my growing knowledge of more refined techniques under guidance of my goldsmith teacher.

I continuously try to improve my techniques, but I also love to experiment with new ideas and new materials.

Materials are the main sources of inspiration - precious as well as more basic, in great variation: Fossils, metals, pearls, glass, enamel, leather, horn, bone etc.

Sometimes the converse happens: I get an idea and must try to the appropriate material.

Here are some of my favorite materials:

Ammonite: Fossil shell of a kind of octopus-related animal

Ammolite: The rarest organic gemstone in the world. Has only been found in Canada and is formed by ammonite shells.

Keshi pearls: Spontaneously formed pearls without artificial core. Can be found in many shapes.

Opals and tourmalines: My favourite gemstones

Abalone: Mother of Pearl shell from a big ocean snail

Mammoth ivory: Tusks of Siberian mammoths. A material without restrictions as the mammoth is not threatened by extinction.

Exotic leather: Snake, wolffish, ostrich legs, Norwegian skate, etc. - preferably with a Mother of Pearl or metallic finish.

My jewelry is influenced by fairytales, mythology, archeology, biology, the history of fashion and, not least, by opera and theater.

All my pieces are unique - if you buy one, you will never meet someone with a similar piece of jewelry.
